             Rose in Wilson's Fences.
             August Wilson is a famous playwrite who is known for writing the African American experience. He is has won awards for his works which are inspired from his life in pittsburg, where he grew up. One of his well to date play's is fences. In this play he writes of a character named Rose who deals with family issues in her household. Loving, caring and understanding is all what August Wilson incorporated in the character Rose of fences. Rose in August Wilson's fences is a character that remains a strong woman for her family despite her husbands believes and infidelity.
             Rose is the wife of Troy Maxson she is very understanding and caring for her husband and son. She can always put her family in the right place when they seem to go over the edge. Such as when her husband Troy tells his exaggerated near death experience, Rose responds by saying "Every time troy tells a story he finds a different way of telling it"(p. 683). Rose knows him and readsright through him when he is lying. She lets him know when he is being too rude to anyone. believes in sticking with her husband in everyway. Rose still manages to Compromise her believes for Troy's believe. He believes that there is no hope for African Americans in a white society. His believes have been imposed on their son when he tries to keep him from persueing his dreams. Rose tries to talk try into allowing him to see a better side but he doesn't and she remains silent in his decisions. .
             Rose supports him in everyway, of his decisions and although she has been loving and supporting it somehow wasn't enough to keep a tame on her husband. .
             When her husband confesses his infidility, it is a huge windfall for rose. She never expected that the man she has been married to for 18 years could have an affair on her as well another child out of wedlock.
