UFO - Thesis of Existance
The ‘Land of Enchantment’, or New Mexico, is famous for many tourist attractions; from the Space Center complex in Alamogordo to the world’s greatest natural wonder, the White Sands brilliant gypsum dunes (2002. Sights and Attractions). New Mexico is a major tourist state, however, no town is more known to visitors than Roswell, New Mexico. Perhaps the most famous UFO incident occurred in 1947 at Roswell. So what really crashed in Foster Ranch in 1947? Many are lead to believe that the debris scattered some 100 yards wide and 1,000 yards long was simply caused by a top-secret weather balloon mission named Project Mogul or, that is what the Air-force wants us to believe. Evidence exists that points to extraterrestrial life forms did indeed crash in New Mexico is the wrecked ship and the leftover debris being stored in the legendary Area 51.First, if you are wondering what exactly a UFO, an acronym for unidentified flying object coined by the Air force in 1947, looks like, the most popular image reported is round with a dome on top. They have also been depicted as egg-shaped, boomerang, pencil and cigar shaped, and triangular (2000. Kurland, Michael). According to Michael Kurland’s, The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Unsolved
In theory, Dr. Maurice Ewing and Woods Hole first conceived project MOGUL in attempts to spy on the Soviet’s nuclear detonations and the acoustical signatures of ballistic missiles as they traveled into the atmosphere by using long range detection of sound waves. Project Mogul was such a highly classified operation, that it carried a national security rating of “Top-Secret A-1”. If this was such a “top-secret” operation, why risk exposing it if it would defeat the whole purpose of being top-secret? If the Soviet Union were to hear of Project MOGUL, the project would be a complete waste and further the already strained relationship between the U.S. and USSR. The military also released a cover-up report saying that they dropped human-sized dummies from the spy balloons in order to examine the effects of the impact. This raises the question, why would the military use such a top-secret project to perform such tests when a helicopter or plane would have been much easier? Furthermore, Area 51 is a top-secret military test facility administered as Detachment 3 of the Edwards Air Force Base, California. Area 51 is not the real name for the facility; it was simply a term used on maps from the 1950s and 1960s to identify the unused land surrounding Groom Lake (2001-2002. Mahoney, Xander). Area 51 is also known as The Skunkworks, Dreamland, Groom Lake Military Base, Watertown, The Ranch, Paradise Ranch and The Box (2001-2002. Mahoney, Xander). Area 51 is where the wrecked Roswell craft is being held going though back engineering to find out how to build another. Of course, the evidence cannot be confirmed, but many people have reported seeing strange lights over the Nevada desert performing aerial maneuvers that should be impossible. Area 51 is located in South Nevada, making up part of the Nellis Range Complex where an area of restricted air space covering 575 square miles above the Nellis range with Groom Lake and Area 51 at the center. The air space is known as 'The Box' by military pilots because of its nearly square shape (2001-2002. Mahoney, Xander). The site was selected in the mid-1950s for testing of the U-2 spyplane, due to its remoteness, proximity to existing facilities and presence of a dry lake bed for landings. Groom Lake is America's traditional testing ground for "black budget" aircraft before they are publicly acknowledged (Campbell, Glen). "Information concerning activities at the operating location near Groom Lake has National Security. Continued protection of this information is, therefore, in the
