How to get to college

Journal Entry for "How to Make It in College" (CRD-2).
Brian O"Keeney gives three excellent recommendations, for students to manage their time and responsibilities, in his article "How to Make It in College, Now That You"re Here". .
First of all, he recommends that you formulate a monthly calendar. You should make sure that the calendar has plenty of room to write within the dates. You should use the space to remind you of due dates for papers and such. You should also note the days on which you have tests and exams. This should help you to not be caught off guard on a test or assignment completion date. .
Next he recommends that you derive a study schedule. Aside from work and school time, it is very important to make yourself some specific study time. You should study in smaller time frames daily rather than trying to cram all of the information all in one day. This will help you to stay familiar with the information that you have covered in class. .
O"Keeney's last recommendation is to make a "To Do" list. On this list, you should write all of the picky little things that you may need to do. At completion, you should mark these items off. This is a great tool to keep your mind from wandering to responsibilities as well as completing tasks. .
These are very good time management tools. I, personally, wouldn't make a "To Do" list, due to its size and possibility of self-incrimination. Yet, I would make a monthly calendar. It would keep me informed of all upcoming projects and assure that they were completed in a timely manner. I feel that this article could be very beneficial to all college students. .
