Amongst the characters it seemed that the ones on the side of good being Beowulf and Hrothgar had very similar perceptions and relationships with God. The contrary can be said about the relationships that Grendel felt he had with God. However these characters viewed God or the Gods greatly help to shape their actions and played a meaning role in the outcome of this poem. Man’s eternal search to find his God and truly understand him may never come to and end but for man to come to a better understanding of himself, will help him get one step closer to realizing that he is not God and should not try to play his role.
