They have grown callus tissue on different concentrations of kinetin with indole acetic acid (IAA). The article clearly stated that the extracted nicotine from the root, shoot and callus tissue was spectacularly high when the callus rejuvenated roots. The rejuvenation of shoots in the rooted callus reduces the nicotine in the root and callus according to the article. And it tells that the increased in the nicotine content can be explained by the accumulation of the nicotine in the shoot and callus tissue caused by the rejuvenation of the roots in spite of the reduction of nicotine in the rejuvenation of shoots in the rooted callus. The research also examined also the amount of nicotine concentration in regenerating shoot tissue with and without regenerated roots.
