The Catholic Church has its own opinions on the research of genetics. They believe that it is not our place as human beings to choose how a human will be born and its life thereafter, it is God’s position. Cloning for example, will never happen in nature to the human species do to its multi-cellular traits; however we are getting to an era where it will be possible, but only with the use of complex technology. Though the church is opposed to the idea of cloning, there is a large chance of it occurring widespread.

Some would present an argument that there are advantages to be had from the research of genetics. Less people becoming ill and diseased, less deformities, less hospital facilities requires as with staff required to run them. The church sees these views as a good thing but how these things are accomplished has to be revised. In the churches eyes the ends do not justify the means.

Stem cells that have been recently researched have been a highly talked about issue amongst ethic boards. The idea is based around taking stem cells from humans and giving them to others to make their illnesses subside, this creates a sought of human farm. The real problems with ethics come into play when we start trying to get more and more stem cells. Pre-born babies have large amounts of stem cells so this will be a reliable source for stem cell research. The down side to this source is that the babies are killed.
