Informing oneself about Ecstasy

"I promised myself I"d never try ecstasy" - this is a confession by a student now addicted to the said drug. Initially, an article she had read about a guy who died due to an "e" overdose had turned her off from the drug. Later on, however, her friends began popping (the term used for taking "e") during gimmicks. It seemed harmless enough, so she eventually tried it. What began as a harmless taste has turned into an addiction. This student feels she has to "pop" ecstasy every weekend. This picture is just a simple scenario but a very common one nowadays. And the society is now asking why more and more kids are turning to "e." .
Ecstasy is the term commonly used to refer to the synthetic drug MDMA. This MDMA is a substance that chemically intensifies the exchange of signals between brain cells. As a result, it affects a person mood, appetite, perception of pain, sexual drive, and even memory. This feeling is what users call a "hit" which all depends on the "e" formulation taken. But no two ecstasy pills are ever alike. The components of "e" change every other week depending on the supply. They have different names and mixtures that changes after awhile by a newer and stronger formulation. And if you are to ask a user about the formulation, they will say, that suppliers just recommend what is good. But knowing what goes into every pill does matter. What users don't know is oftentimes, pills sold as ecstasy contain other drugs - some in fatal proportion. Since "e" is an illegal substance, the drug is not subject to regulation nor does it undergo quality control. What's even more frightening is that ecstasy pills have been reportedly containing substances like ketamine and ozone, which are dangerous anesthetics known to cause delusion, and can even drive heavy users to violent fits or suicide.
But what really are the effects of this drug? What really can this bring you? As the word "ecstasy" conjures, the drug jibes with the music.
