chool their growth would be much quicker and their knowledge would be much more extensive. They would then be much more productive, and much more equipped to take care of themselves. Elementary and Secondary schooling are the first two steps that come before college. These steps must be completed before going to college is even an option. After putting the time into finishing high school, it would seem that the students would then have the confidence and have the want to further their education.

Another important aspect that must be focused on for more Hispanic students to enter college is having the Hispanic parents educate their children and push the idea of how important higher learning is. My mother has always taught me that going to college isn’t an option - it’s mandatory. This idea has been preached to me since I was very young, and because it has been repeated so many times throughout my life, going to college has become my number one goal.
