Legalized marrijuana

Before I came to the US, I have always believed that marijuana was something that people experimented with as a way to deal with their daily stress. I also felt that the use of marijuana was the harmful to a person physical and mental health. –The view in my country (Cyprus) is that marijuana is as detrimental as any other hard core drug-. However, my view about marijuana has changed dramatically over the years, not just because I have tried it but most importantly because of scientific evidence that supports its medical use.

As you can see marijuana can be used for many medicinal purposes. Marijuana can be used for a wide variety of medical illnesses. Some illnesses are people who suffer from cancer, people with eating disorders, like anorexia, and people suffering from glaucoma. It is not physically addictive and as of today, nobody has ever died from using it. If pot was legalized it would lessen the problems associated with marijuana smoking. The millions of dollars spent each year by antidrug law enforcement agencies, should rather be spent in helping those to which drugs abuse represent a problem.

As I mentioned above, all these statements are lies and I can prove why. When it comes to the first argument that states that marijuana does not qualify for medicinal use and the medicine issue is a carefully orchestrated campaign by aging hippies, lawyers, and marijuana users against the sick and ill who really need marijuana to relieve their pain. My answer to this statement is that through my own personal experience, not all marijuana smokers are hippies, lawyers or criminals as they make them appear to the rest of the world. There are doctors, politicians, teachers, professors, computer geniuses, economists, historians, scientists, taxi drivers, artist etc, which are pro legalizing marijuana for different reasons including medical purposes.
