Old Yeller is the coming of age story of a young boy named Travis Coates around the time of 1860. His father goes off on a cattle drive and he instantly becomes the man of the house. This is hard for him because he has to take care of his mother and brother. Trouble happens on the very first day when the family mule nocks the fence down because of a yellow dog. Soon enough Travis’s brother takes the dog in and names him Old Yeller. Pretty much the rest of the movie is Old Yeller and the boys going on adventures till we lead to a pretty crappy ending. Basically Old Yeller gets rabies and they have to put him down. I laughed, I cried, I even paid money. Old Yeller caused me to do all these things.
