Should the government of Canada increase income tax
Canada is a Mixed Economy. Canada is more socialist when it comes to intervention with universal social services. Health care, Education, welfare, Canada pension, and old age pension are only a few of Canada’s universal social services with financial problems that the government has to deal with. The government can do one of two things: They can continue to support universal social services by increasing the proportion of income tax, which will result in more equality, and social welfare. The government can use only the money they currently get for social services resulting in not enough money to support universal social service, more individualism, and personal welfare. This is an important issue because it reflects the needs and wants of all Canadian citizens. To best support the needs and wants of Canadian citizens, the government of Canada should continue to support universal social services by increasing the proportion of income tax. All Canadian citizens are considered equal doesn’t matter how poor or how rich you are. We all have the same charter of rights and freedoms. We should all have access to affordable health care. Without the increase of income ta
x, the government will not be able to support affordable healthcare. A mother that lives with a salary below poverty, she takes her child to the hospital, he needs a heart transplant. The doctor comes back to the mother and tells her that she has to come up with 20,000 dollars or her child will not be able to live. This is very common in the United States. Is it that child’s fault that his mom can’t pay for the operation, yet he gets punished? Canadians are all equal so we should all pay into income tax to support affordable health care, so this will never happen. The better the quality of life people can get from health care the better chance of having a higher standard of living. The last thing Canada would need is for education to become privatized. Without enough money children could be deprived of education. A lot of smart children have poor parents. With privatized education theses children could not afford to go to school. A lot of doctors, lawyers, scientist, people who have developed cures wouldn’t have been able to be successful without social services. Look at Sweden they have one of the highest standard of livings. Sweden has free post secondary educatio
