Today, social status is not as defined as it was back in the ancient day. We have our government which had levels of status, which is irrelevant to people not working for the government. On personal levels, there are different statuses of people. TNo matter how you put it, the common goal of the people is to get rich, so socially, but unofficially, people divide themselves into clusters of financially similarities. The successful people live in an area that has the nicest houses, and they attend expensive events. They flaunt their money by buying expensive fashions, and the latest technology, and just being very easy with their money. If they choose to that is. Middle class people may work hard in laboring jobs, but they still get by. They may not have as much to show off as the richer people, but they live comfortably. The low class people are usually people new to Canada, or people who just didn’t take the opportunities that were given to them. In western civilization today, you can go up in the social ladder, or you can go down. Through work and education, one can be successful. Others are born into wealth, others are born into poverty. Bottom line is, today’s social class is not about being in the government, or who your father is, rather, to how you live your life, and what you have to show for it. Get rich or die trying is the mentality of today’s people. We have our government, and ways of life from the Romans, which got alto from the Egyptians through. No matter how you put it, or when you put it, the more money you have, the higher you status. Whether you have the opportunity to advance in social status, or not, the money is still what puts you in your place.

Egypt’s social ladder was a lot more extravagant than the Incas. We are also provided with a lot more information on the Egyptian social pyramid. Egypt’s civilization was based on the status of people. The Pharaoh was on the top, with his Vizier right below him. The nobles, generals, priests, and government officials were below them. Then were the Scribes who were classified into two groups- the highly educated scribes, and the ones who knew the basics of how to read and write. Below them were the Artisans, tradesmen, teachers, artists and soldiers. Below them were the farmers, and the workers. The common people/laborers. And at the base of the pyramid were the slaves.
