The storm

“There are some things you learn best in calm, and some in storm” (The Song of the Lark, By Willa Cather). Not only do you learn differently during particular events, but we also feel differently. As for Alcee, he felt it was a good getaway from his current wife and would probably do it again it if he had the chance. “Alcee Laballeire wrote to his wife, Clarisse, that night. It was a loving letter, full of tender solicitude. He told her not to hurry back, but if she and the babies liked it at Biloxi, to stay a month longer” (Chopin, 861). Alcee had also recognized that he had done wrong, so he did not rush his wife, rather, he encouraged her to stay in Biloxi if she was enjoying herself.
