Arguing Essay

“How do you plan on spending the rest of your life? Does a college education really matter, or can I be successful in life lacking a college education?” This is what a lot of people may have on their mind when graduating from high school or those who may be anticipating college.

When you consider attending college, your first consideration is money. “Will I be given a scholarship or will I have to get a loan?” This primary thought will change your whole approach towards learning. In the duration of this argument we will expose some situations that you may or may not have thought about towards going to college and its magnitude to certain people.

You attend college thinking that everything you may learn is significant. In fact that there are lots of things, which are significant in your education, in addition there are some things that may not mean anything towards your major or profession. By every means of your golden education, you would crave in belief that the rest of your life is all gravy now. Moreover, many college students—espec

Let’s view your first couple of years in college. You acquire general courses, which consist of math, English, science, art, etc. Designed for some people, this is just a review from high school. “So why would you need to take these classes all over again?” That is something that I have always asked myself from time to time. If you haven’t heard the myth of “teachers not caring, because the university already has your money,” now you have witnessed a true urban legend.

As far as being a doctor, a lawyer, and going into similar fields you will have to have a college education. You must be certified to be a doctor, dentist, and many other physicians, but as far as owning a business getting a license, that’s not too hard, and not to mention you don’t have to have a college education.

Focusing on the other hand of not going to college. “Who are the people who won’t really need a college education?” From pro athletes, models, comedians, to music stars. “Why would you need an education, if you could make millions entertaining?” Basketball star Kobe Bryant understands opportunity cost and incentives. Despite good high school grades and SAT scores, he decided to skip college and go straight to the NBA, where he earned about $10 million over 4 years. (Mankiw 7) In solution there are many ways of consuming money and living the everyday life you want to live. Many people have to do it the extended and hard way, while others are talented and have the short alternative route, and they receive their dreams and fortunes a lot quicker than others. I believe that many people over-rate the fact of going to college. In the previous years I have come to found out, it comes down to whom you know and the connection you and your friends have. Basically if you don’t know anyone who owns a business or is connected to one, you will probably be the one who will have to get a college education.
