Did the government change for the worse or for the better

New York City has proceeded to improve the lives of everyone since the attack of September 11th, 2001. The United States’ citizens find it difficult trusting certain sections of the government. Thus, the ability for the government to ensure our safety is questioned. Who do we trust to make the necessary changes that will better our lives? We listen to politicians who represent our voices in the government because there purpose is to ensure us that the issues that concern the govern will arise and will be addressed. I did my interview on Councilman and Chairman of New York City, David Weprin because his concerns are manifested via his speeches and actions. Weprin also discusses the problems of the educational system in New York City as well as emphasizing his concern of the hate crimes that occurred following September 11th, 2001. He is openly aware of these issues and is determining ways to confront them. He also emphasizes how hate crimes should cease because these innocent bystanders should not be the victims after the casualties of many.

Well I believe the people have lost trust in the federal government considering the president is part of the federal government because he with held some information from the public eye and

then denied it. At first we looked at the Federal Government for support and guidance, but since the coming fourth of this information that was hidden from the public eye. It is good to see that there is someone who is willing to get the police and government to pay close attention to the racism running through our streets. David Weprin is able to bring these issues to a higher level considering he has power and influence with his governmental status.

As Chairman of the Finance committee, David Weprin is constantly working with budget proposals, causing him and is co-workers to spend long hours in the office. His occupation is tedious and requires a lot of patience. His work entitles him to attend hearings, proposals and dealings with negotiations that sometimes have him awake pass midnight. David Weprin is not only the Chairman of the Finance committee, but he is also vice president of Northeast Queens Jewish Community Council. In his hectic life Weprin finds the time to be a board member of many other organizations throughout the city.

David Weprin graduated from State University of New York at Albany with a degree in Political Science. Throughout his college years, he was involved in many extra curricular activities that helped him prepare for his career in politics. These activities and programs helped him prepare for his leadership roles, dealing with public appearances, being a team leader and organizational skills. He also learned how to stand up for the things he believed in and going forth with his ideas. Those activities included: he was a part in events and
