Simple Plan--I’m “Addicted”
Simple Plan is one of the greatest bands ever. They cover all the bases, such as problems kids like me face every day, catchy music that a lot of people would appreciate, and a surprisingly large (for a punk band that is) zest for life. In this paper, I will discuss this band and the reasons it is so great in further detail. So sit back, relax, and prepare to get punked! First of all, they deal with a lot of problems that a majority of us face every day. Real problems, not like some bands that discuss sexual relations that have no connection with the fans other than “Sex sells”. For example, in one song, titled “I’m Just A Kid”, the band discusses how a boy in his teens wakes up early to hang out with his friends one weekend only to discover he hasn’t any. He mentions staying up the whole night and just hanging out with no one but himself, and ends up being depressed and thinking no one likes him. So you can see that Simple Plan is one of the greatest bands ever. They have great lyrics that really speak to people. They have great music that is really catchy, which people find themselves humming hours after they’ve heard it--and they don’t get tired of it. And we can learn morals and values from them which other singers teach the opposite. Other female singers. Other female pop singers. Oops, did I say that out loud? Finally, they have a large zest for life from which influential teens can learn from and stay on the right path. In only their first year of existence, they traveled over all five populated continents and did three-hundred-plus peopled concerts. Also, they have over one hundred thousand fans, they got to the top of the Alternative New Artist Chart, did a MTV TRL show, got a gold album in their homeland of Canada and later a second one in Japan, and they sold out their first-ever tour in Japan.
