So back to the drawing board. How does one portray the positive face of Islam. The answer is that one should not try to portray any such thing. If you are good person, even if you are not a good Muslim, the world will appreciate you. I am perhaps a pathetic Muslim, but I love my friends and I love this world, and I seem to do more for the cause than any movement or hypocrite. If you are friends with non-Muslims, if you work with non-Muslims, if your neighbors are non-Muslims, and you are a good person, trust me, they will have more respect for you as a person and for Islam as a religion. One does not have to do anything different than he does. In my opinion, are true “hello” is more effective than a sermon on morality. Normalcy by Muslims is the only effective medium through which we can portray the positive face of Islam. We, the humans, in order to glorify our image, sometimes go to extremes, but what we forget is the basic fact of life: to be perceived as a good person with good beliefs, one has to be himself – normal and truthful.
