THE EFFECT OF DISCRIMINATION

After reading the work of John Howard Griffin "Black like Me", I decided to write about how discrimination effects the people who's receiving it. Most of the people, who have never experienced discrimination, don't know how it feels like to be the victim of discrimination. Therefore, I decided to point out to those people who need to know the effects of discrimination and it's consequences. "We had a long conversation during which he had brought out the obvious fact that whites teach their children to call them "niggers." He said this happened to him all the time and that he would not even go into white neighborhoods because it sickened him to be called that (156). The word "Discrimination" reminds us of many things. That has happened in many different times, many different places that were also recorded as historical events. To me discrimination is being hateful toward a person, group, and society, because of ethnic, race, language, or even birth background. Not all of the people are discriminative, but most of them are. Whereas some other people who think that they are against discriminative, but when they see somebody who is being discriminative they won't stop him. And that what cause the corruption in a society, because there is nobody who is looking for the truth and who's doing the wrong, as John Howard Griffin did.
As John Griffin decides to change his color from a white person to a black person, he wants to see and prove what would be the difference. Because all his life he has been seeing some white people who are being discriminative and black people telling him you don't understand and you will never do. And that was what made him take that dangerous step, to find out the truth as seeing it from sides, not only one but also two. He knows .

that it's easy for white people to discriminate because it is something they do all the time. While in the other hand he wants to see if it is easy to be the person receiving discrimination.
