“Community Policing in Small Town and Rural America” is an extremely informative article that attempts to answer two questions: First, what exactly is the relationship between community policing and small town/rural police practices? Second, can the components of small town/rural police practices that exhibit the ideal ideas of community policing be applied to urban department?

Essentially, this article also calls for more studies to be completed in order to discover which aspects of small town/rural policing practices can be applied to urban departments and which cannot, along with “understanding community policing’s potential and its limitations.”
