War of Worlds

For my book I did War of the Worlds by Orson G. Wells. Have you ever been in a time of war? Well, I know you have we are in one now, but how about a war between two different planets. It would be a completely different experience. Don’t you think it would be just frightening? Well for a large mass of Englishmen this was the case.

It all starts with the watching of mars. It was nothing great to see for a normal person, but for an astronomer it was a wonderful thing to see. On this one night though, it was an even greater sight. There was the falling of the star, or was it a star? That was the question on a lot of Englishmen’s minds. Naturally they went to check out the star. The first to get there was the narrator. He was followed by many others.

When he got their the thing that was thought to be a star happened to be a sphere. It was also steaming hot. The top of the sphere also seemed to be being unscrewed from within the sphere. The thought of extra-terrestrial intelligent life spread.

The army was called in to make sure the creatures were not mistreated. The army tried to open the sphere, but it was to hot. Since it was too hot the army had to wait. They did not have to wait very long. Finally, they w

Then eventually got on their way, but still they had the fear of the aliens. They had still been on the offensive and it looked as though nothing could get in their way. They had been destroying everything from buildings to railroads.

He went out to help the man. When he got out their he invited the man inside. The man came in willingly. When he got inside he offered the stranger a drink and they sat and talked. The man told him he was a member in the army. His division and barely gotten to see action before they were divided. The man was trying to find his platoon. Our narrator invited the stranger to travel with him. The man accepted the offer.

After hearing the news our narrator headed back to see his wife. On his way traveling back he was hoping she was still alive. Then, he finally arrived and got to see his wife once again in safety. They both had survived a martian invasion in which many people had died.

He finally gets to his house. Fortunately it was still standing unlike a lot of the houses around his. When he got in his house he decided to keep the lights off for the sake of the aliens not seeing him. Soon after he entered he decided to go to his study room. Up there he had a window where he could see out to a field where the aliens where. He could also see part of his yard. He looked out and saw few people passing. Then, he saw a man pass through his yard.

Then the word got around the land. It seemed the martians had been destroyed. Yet it was not by weapons or anything of the sort. It happened to be by disease on which the martians were not prepared for. It was the most unlikely way for them to be defeated.
