Lets say that you went to a apply for a job and you met all the qualifications. You feel really confident on getting this job, but you soon find out that you have to rejected because of your skin colour. Wouldn’t you be angry? I know most people after reading this would think that’s discrimination. And they are right, except its against whites, not minorities. Affirmative action creates this discrimination, and just because its against whites, does not make it right. Although at one time we did need affirmative action very badly for minorities, we do not need it anymore because it has completed its job well. Affirmative action actually creates tension between races and therefore promotes inequality and racism. Affirmative action should be discontinued.
Affirmative action is discrimination, although most people wont admit it. When an employer hires anyone because he or she is a minority, even if another person is more qualified for the job, it is discrimination. In fact it legalizes discrimination and just because it is discrimination against whites it doesn’t make it right. Wouldn’t you be enraged if you applied for a job only to find you didn’t get it because of your skin colour. We did need affirmative action before but now there is no need for it because it is discriminating against male whites. Affirmative action has no place in are society today.
