Leopold Von Ranke was a German Historian who is recognized as the father of the modern objective historical school. Ranke wanted to reconstruct the periods of the past as they actually were and tried to stay away from infusing stories of the past times. Writing history “as it actually was” was good advice given to historians by Leopold Von Ranke but is almost nearly impossible to accomplish because there are too many different perspectives and opinions in cultures that exist today. With these different views the facts of history are going to vary from person to person, which does not allow historians to write it as it actually was. One person may look at a subject on a completely different level then another person would, altering the way the topic is viewed.

Instead of having things like Enclyopedias focusing on men and there accomplishments Feminists want to be included and show their improvements as well. Not only do Feminists want there improvements to be included but also their roles and how they were treated compared to men. Another example of different perspectives is Sima Qian. Sima Qian was the grand historian of the Han Dynasty, he focused on all the historical events of his Dynasty and only his Dynasty. He viewed his culture to make sure they wouldn’t repeat any mistakes but he didn’t view other cultures. Perhaps the information he gathered looked better then what other historians would have said because he
