Censorship
Right now there is some sort of censorship being fought out in court at this very moment. One of the biggest problems with censorship, is the problems educational leaders come across everyday, whether or not to allow young minds to read books of certain nature. Years ago it was the opposite, trying to get young minds to explore the stories and events of the reading world. The most important problem at hand is the messages that these books are sending to our young people, giving different opinions on subjects, whereas in the past, it was forbidding. The black and white of society if fading into a grey color, different opinions are being spoken to the public and the messages could be interpreted wrongly by the young minds. Therefore parents need to step into the picture and restrict books they do not want their children to read, and not decide for the other hundreds of students in their school. For example, the recently released books that deal with homosexuality and inappropriate language have caused a huge controversy over the last couple years. If this type of writing is going to offend any child or reader, have the child’s parent decide whether or not it is suitable for their children. The only reason these books are offered to the children, is to develop their learning skills and open up their mind to new ideas and intelligence. The school boards across America are not going to release a book that is not going to benefit the child academically. This country was founded on the rights of freedom, and anyone can write any piece of literature that is in their heart, and it’s the readers choice to decide if this is what they want to read about and comprehend. If the child is too young to decide that, the parents should be capable of knowing what is best for their children. There are always going be different options and opinions to take in the world and it is also important that the more choices students have in reading, the less potential there is for censorship, or a challenge to a book. Life is full of choices and one that lives in this country has a choice to read or write what ever piece of literature he/she chooses. People in this world have choices to make, some of them whether or not they are gay or lesbian, these type of people are going to be here no matter what one says. Though majority of people disagree with these actions, they can not disappear. Our country has broken do
