Arab and Israeli Conflict

Islamic countries have stagnated economically for centuries. Arab countries with the world's richest resources have not been able to use their financial power for constructive development of their countries and have failed to advance their societies. All Arab countries are ruled as monarchies or as undemocratic regimes with very poor standards of living. In the center of the Middle East lies a land that has been fought over for thousands of years. This land is called Israel. Millions of people throughout the years have given their lives in a quest for the Promised Land. Jews, Christians, and Muslims, all have lost their lives fighting for this land. Although most recently, Arabs and Israelis have been fighting on this land. The Arab and Israeli conflict has been going on for a period of time and since then, many drastic changes and events have occurred.
The main difference between the Arabs and the Israelis is their religion. The Arabs are Muslims and the Israelis are of Jewish faith. The Arabs, who dominated the Middle East, supported the nation of Palestine. This is a small country next to Israel. They formerly lived in Israel and ruled it. On the other hand, the Israelis have lived in and out of the area for many years. Then, in the aftermath of the Holocaust, the Jews were given a homeland in Israeli because of a World War II agreement. This meant that Palestinians in this area were forced to move of to live in harmony. The Israelis believed what was is written in their text, the Torah. It stated that the land of Israel was and is promised to them by God himself. The use of Islamic religion to encourage suicide bombers with the promise of heavenly life with virgins, illustrates the great gap between Islam and Jewish beliefs. The Hebrew Bible prohibits killing in the Ten Commandments and completely rejects suicide. Being very religious people they were willing to defend it with their lives, money, and, most importantly, their military.
