Every day thousands of people die or come close to death. It’s a scary thought but it is true. Some people die far away in completely different countries or continents. Some die near, in neighboring cities or towns, and occasionally in your own town. Most of the time you don’t actually know the people that die or get seriously injured, so you don’t ever really think anything like that can ever happen to you, your family, or friends; but when it does it is the worst thing in the world. It is the most heart-wrenching thing that can happen to anyone.

I found out the night after it had happened and I could hardly believe that it was real but after a few nights of felling like I was in a very dramatic movie it begin to sink in. It hurt me to believe that God could let something so bad happen to such a great and happy person. I will never understand how or why it happened but it did. He is doing a whole lot better now and nobody will realize the impact his injuries are going to have on my life and the way that I live it.
