Same Sex Marriages
The constitution states that all men are created equal and it’s no wonder that homosexual couples have been motivated to fight for the same marriage rights that heterosexual couples have enjoyed since the union of Adam and Eve. However, people's stereotypes and society's hypocritical views of people all affect the gay community in reaching their goals to legalize gay marriages. People are ignorant when the topic of homosexuality is concerned. Mainstream society will say they are in favor of equal rights for homosexuals, but when talking about same sex marriage, the society does not agree with that. The stereotype has it that homosexuality is only about "dirty" sex. On the other hand, homosexuality is merely a preference and much more about affection and commitment. All relationships, including gay ones, are based on mutual attraction, love and affection. People in love get married everyday so what harm is done to society if a law is passed legalizing same sex marriages? Homosexuals like heterosexuals are harmless people, highly educated and progressive in the arts and business. These children should not be deprived of any health privileges, benefits, and other rights that are obtainable to the children of heterosexual partners. Homosexuals have the ability to form a happy and safe family atmosphere for both the spouses and the children and therefore should be entitled for the same health plans and benefits available to any other normal American family. Recently thousand of gay Californians have been pushing hard to have Section 40 added to Article 1 of the California Constitution. The Californians for same-sex marriage organization posted the following amendment, which gay Californians propose. Gay couples are capable of loving children as straight couples. Although, society does not acknowledge the idea of homosexual couples raising children. Scientific studies have shown children raised with normal parents and homosexual parents are the same. Psychologists tell us that what makes the difference is the love given from the parents, not the gender. It is a fact that many gay couples raise children and with as much love and care as a heterosexual couple would raise their children. If two people of the same sex can not raise children, then why are murderers, convi
