If we were to analyse world history, we would realize that wars have always been fought for different reasons; namely, racial issues, economic interests, territorial expansion, the protection of the peace of the world, among others. Whatever reasons cause a war, make us ponder over to what an extent those reasons undermine the worthiness of human lives. Strong evidence shows us that United States has driven the world into an absurd war without taking into account the death of innocents.

Third, the Bush administration guaranteed that the lives of the civilians in Iraq would be protected and that the ‘people of Iraq themselves would set a government of Iraqis, by Iraqis, with a system they choose’ as soon as the military action was over. However, evidence now shows that this last statement is inaccurate since Iraqis are now suffering and will continue to suffer the consequences of this military campaign, paying with the lives innocents. As we clearly witnessed in the bombings of markets, hospitals and civilians homes where innocents were indiscriminately hurt or killed.
