Premarital Sex

Pre-marital sex is a leading cause to many negative effects in this generation. In the last 50 years alone, the number of all American women between the ages of 12 and 25 who had engaged in sex before marriage was 84%(Moulton, pg. 37). Moreover, the number of men was 89%, and the number of people in general who approve of premarital sex for themselves or others was a whopping 92%(Moulton, 37). A review of the 1999-2001 General Social Survey shows that the majority of American men lose their virginity by the age of 14. Over 60% of 16-21 year old males have had sex with more than one partner(Frye, pg. 71). People who have premarital are more likely to have long-term emotional, physical, social effects than people who choose to wait. Premarital sex leads to many issues such as molestation, rape, sexually transmitted diseases, abortions, single-parent families, and more.
The most common effect that premarital sex leads to is STD's. Only 17% of all sexually active high school students practice safe sex. Unfortunately the teens with the most partners are the least likely to use condoms, therefore if a teen has sex in high school, the probability that your partner has already had sex with someone else is 50%, which means that 1 out of every 25 high school students probably has a STD(Solomon, pg. 193). The world is plagued with over thirty-nine STD's. They infect over 3 million young adults annually. These dangers should be painfully obvious to many of the people who are promiscuous. Premarital sex is the one reason why AIDS is the sixth leading cause of death among fifteen to twenty-four year olds(Solomon, 196). It is hard to believe that people are aware at these statistics but are yet still having premarital sex.
Premarital sex, in many cases, produces children. Take this example for instance, think of the advantages of sex just being for fun and love, then, when ready, going to Wal-Mart to get a new baby for $998.
