Constitutional Framework: How Effective Is the Constitution?

The effectiveness of the United States Constitution has been a source of conflict and differing opinions since it’s very concept was first introduced over 100 years ago. However, there are points to be made which can affirm its positive effect on democratic society. Through the course of the Constitution’s existence, the civil liberties expected by American citizens have always been well protected and used as proof of innocence in courts of law. No matter how one looks at the Constitution, it’s ability to protect and serve the liberties so many Americans fled Europe for should stand out as its prime achievement. This does not mean, however, that the system is without flaw. This essay will analyze the Constitution’s positive impact on America, but also prove its weakening in a time when the rules of American life are questioned every day.
