Book Report on Out of the Silent Planet

C. S. Lewis was born in Belfast, Ireland in 1898. He was the son of a solicitor. His parents were Albert James Lewis and Flora Augusta Lewis. In 1905 his family moved to Little Lea in the outskirts of Belfast, Ireland.

In 1908 his mom died of cancer. C. S. Lewis and his brother Warren were sent to the Wynyard School in England. In 1917, he enlisted in the Army and fought in World War I. He was wounded in battle and saw many of his friends die. When he came back from the war, he continued his studies at college. He graduated from college in 1922. He became a professor at Magdalen College in 1925. C.S Lewis did not get married until he was 59 years old. His wife died soon after they were married. C.S. Lewis had no children of his own.

C.S. Lewis was an atheist as a young man. During the war, he saw lots of his friends die, including his best friend. After the war, he became a Christian. Many people consider him to be one of the best Christian writers of all time. Even though C.S. Lewis was not a Roman Catholic, his books are great for any Catholic to read. C. S. Lewis died in1963.

I think some of the ideas in the book "Out of the Silent Planet" come right from C.S. Lewis' life.
