Boomerangs: Then and Now

Boomerangs have a very interesting history. No one is entirely positive where they originated, but based on common belief returning boomerangs were created in Australia. This is because there is more returning boomerangs found there then anywhere else in the world. Boomerangs are probably the first heavier-then-air flying machine ever invented by human beings. The oldest Australian Aboriginal boomerangs are ten thousand years old. These first boomerangs were used for hunting and are called throwing sticks. They were up to 3 feet long, and did not return.

Boomerangs can be made of wood, high-grade plywood, exotic woods, plastic, and resin saturated paper. Boomerangs and how they are used have improved a lot since they were first made.
