Do you think you can find perfection somewhere? Or maybe find perfection in someone? What about you? Have you ever done or thought you are perfect? If your answer for any of these questions is yes, here is my statement: it is not possible to find perfection in one race or someone. What we find is a variety of qualities that together form a single quality of beauty. And within this variety, imperfection is also included.
It is easy to realize that between the book The Cay and the Writings of Emanuel Swedenborg there are some connections. One of them is the concept of variety that we can find in both books. Variety is the communion of various different parts. When these parts are similar, this variety turns to be imperfect. On this situation we can notice that many different people and things compose our natural world. Then separated can be seen only as imperfect things. But them together may form perfection.
From that, it is easy to realize that perfection comes from variety. It happens because when we put things toget
Summing up, what can be understood from this paper is that you could never find perfection in one single thing. What you would find is a variety of qualities and beauty. So, do not go around looking for supremacy. Look for multiplicity. I am sure that what you will find is the perfection you are looking for.
“ … So heaven is the unity resulting from the arrangements of various parts in the most perfect form, for the heavenly form is the most perfect of all forms. That this is the origin of all perfection is evident from all the beauty, pleasantness and delight that affect the senses as well as the mind (animus). From this comes the saying that variety gives delight, and it is known that it is the nature of the variety which determines the delight. From all this it can be seen, as in a mirror, how perfection comes from variety even in heaven. For the things that are in the spiritual world can be seen as a mirror from those that come into existence in the natural world” (Heaven and Hell 56).
