Is there a god

The question of the existence of God has troubled mankind for thousands of years. Although the existence of God was once never denied, as His presence, His existence was evident in miracles and the people's faith. But time and the advancement of modern science have called God and His very nature into question. The Supreme Being has become the source of much doubt and controversy. What was once certain and surely unquestionable has become the most questioned. The existence of a God has been the topic of fierce debate. This most usually occurring between members of the religious society and, everybody else. As a matter of fact the religious world itself has not always been able to agree on God. Many theories have been proposed, and all think that theirs proves beyond a doubt on whether or not God exists. To write this paper I selected the theories of St. Anselm, St. Thomas Aquinas, and William Paley to prove that god does exists.

St. Anselm supplies the ontological argument for the existence of God. The ontological argument states that by understanding the nature of God himself, we come to realize he exists. Anselm explains his argument by first defining what God is. Anselm says that God is the greatest possible being we can conc

The bible was god’s way of speaking to us. He told us about the universe and how he created the universe. In the bible he also told us about the sun and when he said, “let there be light” it was created. Modern science is the reason why the existence of god is questioned. Modern Science gave us evolution, which says that though thousands of years we evolved from gorillas. This contradicts the bible, the bible says that we were created through Adam and Eve. Much like god used the bible to speak to us in earlier days, he uses science to speak to us now. Man never questioned anything in earlier days, this is why god existence was never questioned. Today god uses science to explain to us in detail how the universe was created.

The fourth argument says that there is a gradation of everything, and that at the top of every gradation there is a maximum of the genus. He says this in turn is the cause for all others in that genus to be the way they are. Thusly this must also hold true for the goodness found in humans, of which the maximum who influences the rest would be God.

The fifth and final argument by Aquinas is that all things on this world with intelligence travel toward a means or goal. He then says that this traveling is influenced by the intelligence, which in turn is bestowed by a higher intelligence, and so on. The ultimate directing intelligence being God.

The existence of god had been a debated topic since I can remember. Everyone has prayed to god at one point.
