“A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings” tells a story about a winged man who falls in a fishing town where he is kept as a circus animal. The story describes the way he is treated, misjudged and sold until he is finally strong enough to fly away from what we can call hell.

The plot of the short story “A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings” revolves around the character of a winged man who has fallen to earth, but even though the story revolves around this character, the story’s true focus is not on the angel, but on the people that get involved around this man. Throughout the story, Marquez gives his opinion about human nature, and how humans are illogical .
