Victor Frankenstein

Victor Frankenstein is an insane, curious man, driven by ambition and scientific curiosity. Frankenstein starts as a young, pleasurable Swiss boy who grows up in Geneva and has a passionate desire to learn the secrets of heaven and earth. He starts by reading the works of the very old and obsolete alchemists, a background that serves him hardship when he attends university of Ingolstadt. After a lightning strike and learning about the power of nature he is anxious to pursue the knowledge of science. He was enthusiastic about learning the occult sciences until his father convinces him of the alchemists’ trash. Victor’s carefree childhood and eccentric adolescence are soon overtaken with great tragedy when his mother dies, which he sees as a prophecy of his future tragedies.


Victor stubbornly views science as the only true route to new knowledge and instills all his time into his studies, selfishly forgetting his family and friends in Geneva. Lab work predominantly fascinates him, and he soon finds himself secluded there for days at a time. Victor's aptitude for humanity and compassion has been totally shattered by his fixation; it also suggests that he is deeply unsound. His scientific pursuits are the result of a yearning for vulgar self-fulfillment. He wants to create men who will adore him as their master. Fascinated by how the body is built and what happens at death he insanely constructs his view of a perfect human being, leads him into the town in search of old body parts.
