The political causes of the French Revolution evolved from problems King Louis XVI caused. He ruled France as an absolute monarch. (Document 1) King Louis XVI didn’t care about the well being of France. This made him a very a weak leader. This was because he didn’t care about the state. Therefore he spent France’s money on himself, and lived in luxury. The people of France were upset with the way France was being run, mostly the third estate, which included merchants, peas

The French Revolution could have been avoided by the king if he was interested in the well being of France. If the king had taken the declaration that was made into consideration, the third estate wouldn’t have revolted. The cause of the Revolution lies more on the king and political influences rather than on the social and economic influences. All in all, there were political, social, and economic influences that caused the French Revolution.
