Good vs. Evil in Boethius In the Consolation of Philosophy, Boethius tries to find solutions to why evil exists. What he says that he does not understand is how can evil exist in a world that is governed by the most powerful and supreme good, God? Another question that he asks is: How can evil go unpunished? Philosophy simply explains that the good are powerful and the evil are weak. Philosophy says that evil is always punished and good is always rewarded.
