Fact or fiction, true or false, right or wrong. We argue these things in everyday life all the time. People chose their side and go to bat for it and will do everything they can to prove their point. Mankind has done this for centuries now and will continue to do so for centuries to come. There is one topic in particular where men and women have “gone to bat” for countless years. Was there a real King Arthur? Some say no, some say yes. Others say there was an Arthur; not a king, but a wise and powerful battle commander. Everyone has heard the amazing stories such as the Holy Grail, Excalibur and perhaps the most infamous, the Knights of the Round Table. After reading the numerous stories, legends and hypothesis about King Arthur, I believe that he was once a truly great King and leader to England, contrary to some peoples beliefs that he was just a battle commander or a myth.The main reason for believing King Arthur’s existence is the myths and legends about him. The most famous legend tells us how he became king; it is the Sword in the Stone. Here’s how the legend goes. All the lords and dukes on a tournament that would decide the next high king.
