Childhood Memory

It is quite difficult to remember back in my childhood for a memorable event, but there is one series of events that I still remember to this day. It was my first time riding an airplane and experiencing a great family trip. With my current love of traveling, this was where it all started for me.
I have always been fascinated with traveling and geography since I was a young boy that is still true today. When my mother and father told my siblings and I we would be going on an airplane and going to many different places, I was so excited. I had never been on an airplane, and was so amazed whenever I saw one fly through the sky. I always hoped and wished that I would get to ride one of those "big birds" someday. That wish came true when we went on my first family vacation. I remember getting in the airplane, getting buckled in and preparing myself for the takeoff. At first, I was a little scared when we took off into the air, but that fear soon disappeared as I looked out the window and saw the ground get farther and farther away. I thought is was so beautiful to see the endless blue sky and mountains in the distance.
The airplane ride was just the beginning of the journey for me. On this trip we didn't only go to one destination, we went to several great places. The trip started out in Orlando, Florida visiting Walt Disney World and all of the Disney characters and fun rides. From there we went to Washington D.C to see all of the great monuments (not my favorite place at that age), and continuing on to New York City, New York to see the Statue of Liberty and Empire State Building. After sightseeing the big cities we flew to the islands of Bermuda to relax and for the grand finale, we went to my favorite destination on the trip to sunny Cancun, Mexico. I enjoyed Cancun the most because of the white sandy beaches and beautiful clear blue seas of the Caribbean.
Being a young boy at the age of 7 years old, I was mesmerized and overwhelmed at all of the great places I saw on one trip.
