Cold War Origins

The American's during this time period had a tendency to make sure that all of the

blame for the Cold War was placed on the Soviet Union. It is no wonder as to why the

Soviets wanted to bomb the guts out of America. Stalin was ready for his already

increasing power in Europe and he still wanted more territory and militia. His armies were

in the millions and he already had Germany. Everybody wanted Poland because this

would be the key to launching an attack on Russia if they got to power hungry. Not one

person or country wanted another World War especially if it was against Russia. America

did not meet other demands from the Soviet Union. Stalin had asked for other land, such

as South Sakhalin Island, the Kuriles and Outer Mongolia. They asked for 20 billion

dollars in reparations from Germany and 3 seats on the United Nations. The United

States was offended at the fact that the Soviet Union would not hold free elections. The

Soviet Union was mad at the fact that the United States gave the Soviets bad press.

Stalin was getting excited because he could almost taste Greece and some of the Middle

East. Greece was struggling to make amends after the British decided to stop supportin

ignored. They were not recognized as a diplomatic country until 1933 because of

Soviets to have anymore power. As you can see the Cold War was a bunch of

these contries. Britain did not have the funds necessary to support their countries

were usually between Russia, the USA and Germany. Poland was the key point in

each other grew. Western intervention in the Russian Civil War was very bittersweet.

when the Soviets decided to blockade Berlin. This had it's benefits for the Soviet Union
