In my opinion, the sovereigntists will not eventually triumph in their wish to separate Quebec from Canada and Canada will remain an intact nation. If Quebec ever did part from Canada, the consequences for both nations would be disastrous. However, the polls show that citizens of Quebec have little enthusiasm for another referendum and a feeling of national unity has increased in recent years. The craving for sovereignty has lessened in Quebec over the past decade (though separatists are still common) and in my opinion, this is due to the growing harmony between Canadians and the realization that the separation of Quebec from Canada would mean an economic depression for both countries.
