Fire science


            
             One of the most important invention every made would be fire. Without fire today's society wouldn't be able to live. We use fire to cook food, make glass and shape metal. Everything that you can think about wouldn't be able to be done without fire because fire creates energy, which you need to make anything. Now the bad side is that fire is a very dangerous substance. Approximately 4,000 people die every year in the United States as the result of fires and anther 22,000 are injured. Fires have burn down buildings and cities in some cases. Fires have causes many tragedy in the United State, since we are so careless when it comes to fire prevention. There have been many tragedies cause by fire in the United States. I chose to write about fire science because it's playing a big role in the United States with the recent fires in California. .
             Tuesday November 4, 2003 firefighters just finish containing the biggest and deadliest wildfire in California. These fires in California have burned more than 740,000 acres of brush and timber and destroyed about 3,600 homes, which lend to the killing of at least 22 people. But since we don't live in California I'm going to be writing about a fire tragedy that happened in New York City a long time ago and what we done to prevent fire in buildings. .
             An important tragedy in the Manhattan history was the Triangle Shirt Waist Company Fire. The Triangle Waist Company was in many ways a typical sweated factory in the heart of Manhattan. It was located at 23-29 Washington Place. This company had lots of dangerous working conditions, like long hours, unsanitary, and low wages. Most of the people that worked there would be female immigrants. The Asch building was owned by Max Blanck and Isaac Harris who claimed that the subcontractors where the people who was in charge of the working condition of the employees. Many of the Triangle factory workers were women, some were as young as 15 years old, most of these girls where Italian and European Jewish immigrants who had come to the United States to seek a better life.
