Tomorrow When The War Began Characterisation

Homer was a generally a big, immature pain previous to the war, for fun, he would pull pranks on innocent bystanders and stir up girls up at school so they would call him names like "sexist". Homer is portrayed as big, dark, about seventeen and Greek. In school he was a laid back character, he joked about his Greek heritage, one game he invented at school he called "Greek Roulette" where he and his friends would go around the school running into windows with their heads

Usually when it came to girls, Homer would just sit back, insult them and receive insults in return. But when the group become secluded in the wilderness, Fi, the fair, rich, gentle and delicate female character takes Homer's attention when he starts to feel attracted to her. At times during the war when Homer got a little edgy he would lash out at the others, but when it came to Fi, he loses his voice, goes red and makes excuses to be somewhere else. [Ellie]"…there was a general strain caused by everyone snapping at each other…the exception was Homer, who hadn't snapped at Fi…Fi was immune." Towards the end of the novel, before they carry out the dangerous, rebellious act of exploded the town bridge, they both confess their love for each other.
