Fighting an Endless War

The United States sets itself apart from other nations by our respect for the individual. The strong belief in personal freedom has been the foundation to our government since our nation was founded. The Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights all make promises so that Americans are able to feel safe, secure and hidden from the public view in the privacy of their home. Some people use the excuse that people under the influence of marijuana cannot operate a vehicle. This is true as much as driving a car under the influence of alcohol. Aspirin can kill in overdose and alcohol, an addictive drug, causes diseases and similar effects of marijuana yet, these are legal. Besides reducing the rate of violent acts and crimes, legalization would finally bring comfort to those who suffer through life.

to mention the profit the federal coffers would encounter. “Control it, regulate it, tax it, if [the government] legalize it we might actually have a healthier society,” says New Mexico governor, Gary Johnson. Marijuana cigarettes would undoubtedly be put into production and then taxed. The money from income taxes, paid by the manufacturers
