Anabolic Steroids

In today’s society no longer are sports looked at as an event. Now sports are moneymaking opportunities. The athletes that compete in these sports are in it to make money. No longer is it to entertain or have fun but to win. It doesn’t matter how you win just as long as you win. So athletes look for an edge on their competition. The edge that too many athletes look to is Anabolic Steroids. Anabolic Steroids have good and bad side affects to them. There are rules prohibiting athletes from using this substance but that does stop many of them from doing it. College and pro athletes want the glory or the spot light and are willing to do anything to improve their performance. I think that Anabolic Steroids should be legalized due to the fact that it will make the game unreal. Faster, stronger, and more athletic players will make the games so much enjoyable to the fans. Athletes are always looking for an edge in order to boost their performance and Anabolic Steroids provide the edge that they are looking for.

These shots are generally stuck in the butt and injected. When taken orally the steroids take longer to be effective because they must first go through some of the digestive system. Most frequently people who use steroids go with the injection process for better and quicker results. Steroids are such a risky investment. If they work for the time being your body maybe ok but for athletes and the drug testing they can be banned from their sport and be fined money and be forced to go to rehab. The consequences for doing this are very serious.

The side effects of steroids on the body are very harmful. Steroids have bad side affects that come along with them. The adverse effects of Steroids on the body are not pretty and don’t even sound good. Steroids cause: Muscle cramps, Aching joints, and Increased risk of muscle tears, Increased risk of tendon injuries. These are a few of the reasons that the leagues try to protect the competitors from themselves. Here is why they don’t allow it to protect those that do use them from other players: Risk of HIV and Hepatitis B & C, Increased risk of aggressive acts which may injure self or others, this is a major reason as to why Steroids are prohibited in spor
