In the movie 12 Angry Men, an eighteen-year-old boy was on trial for murdering his father. There were 12 members of the jury to decide whether or not the boy was guilty, and if in fact he would be sentenced to the death penalty. The jurors were sent to a room to establish a verdict. When the jurors voted on his guiltiness, the result was unanimous. Out of the twelve jury members, only one voted “not guilty.” It was the eighth jury member who was not convinced that the boy was guilty.
Because all jurors had to be in agreement to the judgment, they had to discuss their views on the case and try to come to the same decision. Juror #8 brought up
