Admissions essay

I have lived in Chicago for all of my life. Majority of the people I know would love to move and experience a different type of setting. However, Chicago will always be home to me and nothing would be better than attending a University that has created such an influence in this city, specifically in medicine. I learned that University of Chicago's, children's hospital helped make a difference, big or little, in the lives of the numerous Chicago people. Ever since I was six years old, I wanted to become a doctor and only a doctor. As I matured I noticed that at Holy Mountain Evangelical Church, on Cicero, I gradually became the baby-sitter. The sole memory I have of that experience is how much I enjoyed spending time with all the diverse kids while their parents were at choir practice. To me, kids are the ones who still know how to have fun with life and not be judgmental. They are my little reminders to life not always concentrating on "getting my daily things done" but at the same time life can be enjoyed. I developed a better understanding of the medicinal world, surprisingly in my economics class during a career project. I stumbled upon a specific occupation that captured me and made me more devoted to strive for my goal to become a doctor. That occupation is, pediatric cardiology. It was fate that I took my economics class in order to find the perfect job for me. Since I loved kids and still do, it was a perfect way to give back what they give me, a pleasant look on life. Keeping that in mind, I will excel and do the best to my abilities to do exactly that. What place more perfect to start than at the University of Chicago. .
