Lyme Disease

Lyme disease is an infectious disease caused by a tick bite, or by a child being born in utero. It is a relatively new disease, as it was discovered in Lyme, Connecticut, 30 years ago. Lyme disease is rarely , but can cause physical pain and mental distress, and it should be treated as soon as possible. Lyme disease is the most common tick-transmitted infection, with 16,461 cases reported in 1996. I chose to do this disease because it was discovered in the state I live in. I hope that it can help me to lower the chance of me getting this disease. I also will know what to do incase myself or someone I know gets infected.

How does this disease affect people’s health?

This disease can affect a person’s physical, mental, social, emotional, and spiritual health in many ways. People who suffer from Lyme disease suffer symptoms such as fever, malaise, fatigue, headache, and muscle and joint aches. If left untreated arthritis and other more serious symptoms can occur. This may not allow a person to function normally in many ways. People with Lyme disease generally cannot participate in athletic activities, because they are usually over fatigued and cannot concentrate. If the sym

Lyme disease can affect a person’s health in many ways. It can cause physical fatigue and arthritis. It also causes concentration problems, and it affects a person’s rational mind. Lyme disease is caused by a disease carrying tick, or it is passed on from a mother to her child born in utero. This is an infectious disease, because it can be passed on from ticks to humans, and it can also be passed on from mother to child. There are many ways of lowering your chances of getting Lyme disease. One way is to wear pants, and a long sleeve t-shirt when you go outdoors. Another thing that helps is to perform self-checks regularly. I plan to use this knowledge I have gained to help lower my chances to get this disease. I know how it affects a person’s health, the causes of the disease, that it is infectious, and how to treat and prevent it. I will now know how to prevent myself and others from getting this disease, and I will know what to do if someone does get it.
