During the reformation of the church, Luther changed many ideas where changed. Humanism in the north such as in Germany and England was much different than that in Italy. All of the Humanists looked at ancient writings, but the Humanists in the North focused more on the bible. They studied ancient religious manuscripts and the previous church fathers. They more or less studied the writings prior to Thomas Aquinas. Northern and southern Humanists thought a lot alike, but there was a difference in where they placed thei

There were some long-term consequences due to the reformation of the church. Some people didn’t see it Luther way. An example of this are Baptists. There are 34 000 separate Christian groups in the world and half of these don’t want to be affiliated with the larger groups. Some had their own understanding of the bible. Over the next 100 years, everyone was fighting with each other. It took 7 years of negotiation to end the wars.

If Luther hadn’t of been born, we wouldn’t be living in the world that we are living in today. Luther was the key figure in the reformation of the church, and is one if the most influential people of our time.

Economics were also effected in the reformation. Protestants and Catholics had different views on money. Before the reformation, people looked forward to the afterlife, therefore money was not important. Charging interest and lending money was a sin. Many vocations needed a vow of poverty. Unlike the Catholics, the Protestants looked more for this life. Serve god in this life by doing the best you can do. To the Protestants, success is a sign that God is favoring you. The Protestants favored Capitalism. You make money and put it back into your business.
