It was the summer of 1997, and my family was planning for our first out of state vacation. We were going to Disneyworld. Everyone was filled with excitement as we loaded our car and made our way to the airport.
When we got to the airport, we quickly checked our bags and boarded the plane. The flight was gruesome and long. It was the first time I had ever been on a plane. The whole way there I was sick. The flight attendant had to keep bringing me barf bags, because I could not stop throwing up. The engine of the plane started to smoke, so we had to make an emergency landing in St. Louis. Being on the ground was such a relief. After about two hours, we were back on the plane. This time I did not get as sick; I only threw up once. Finally, after about four hours we were in Florida. After we gathered all our bags, we were off to our hotel. W
e were staying at a Disney resort called “The Caribbean Islands.” We stayed on the island of Aruba. Our hotel was beautiful. There were so many bright colors everywhere. There was even a big blue lake we could see from our back window. After a tour of the resort, went to bed; after all we had a big day ahead of us.
The next day we woke up at 8:00 to be at the park by 10:00. We had to ride this big purple bus in order to get to the park. When we got to the park, we could not decide what ride we should ride first, so my mom told us that we should ride “a small world”. The ride was so pointless; we rode in a boat while all these little puppets dressed in overalls, kept singing “It’s a small world.” After we rode about twenty more rides, we decided we wanted to eat. We went to the drive- in diner. It was a restaurant that resembled a drive in theate
